Description
The Moses A. Baldwin Camp #544 Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Long Island, NY, joined by brothers of the Oliver Tilden Camp #26, SUVCW, Brooklyn, NY will conduct a headstone dedication ceremony on April 22, 2023 at 11 AM in Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY to honor Franz Huels, Drummer & Corporal, 46th NY Infantry and gggrandfather of brother Bill Wagner of the MAB Camp. Brother Bruce Weidenburner will sing the National Anthem, Joe Badamo will play the drum, Camp Commander Don McMahon will conduct the GAR Ceremony, Brother Stephen Zawislak will play Taps, and the 14th Brooklyn (“They never left the field in disarray”) Living History Society will fire the volleys. Donations and petitions will be solicited for the budding Greenpoint Monitor Museum in the field and at the luncheon to follow at the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant, Franklin Square, NY.
