Edward J. Atkinson

Past Dept. Commander Edward J. Atkinson died
the third day of February 1920, at his home in
Yonkers, New York.

Comrade Atkinson was born in New York City
seventy-eight years ago and retained his
residence in that municipality until his recent
retirement from business activities.
In March, 1861, he enlisted in Company A, 83rd
Regiment of New York Volunteers and served
with great credit two years when he was
honorably discharged. He was a brave and
faithful soldier, and fulfilled every requirement
with a marked degree of efficiency during the
entire period of his service.
