1.      It is with great sadness and profound regret that I announce the passing of
Real Son, Reverend Howard Lincoln Stimmel, who answered his last roll call
on 9 July 2002.

2.      Brother Stimmel was the son of Sgt. Smith Stimmel of the Union Light Cavalry,
a unit that served as White House Guards and Lincoln’s guard during the Civil War.
As a member of the G.A.R., Smith Stimmel served as National Judge Advocate General
in 1917 and National Patriotic Instructor in 1920.  Reverend Stimmel was a member
of the Col. George Willard Camp No. 154 of Albany.

3.      I hereby charge all Camp Commanders to drape Camp Charters in his honor
for a period of 30 days.
